Pacific Harbour Bikini + Boardshorts
Saturday, May 12th, 2007Did I get inspired in Fiji? Of course. How could I not get inspired, drinking kava and seeing new textiles and art? This is the first set of bikini and boardshorts based on one of the spots I visited (yeah, there’s more stuff coming!!)… Pacific Harbour at the south coast of the big island of Fiji.

Hand-dyed and block-printed bamboo long and loose boardshorts come with three bars of our own eco-friendly ‘green+sticky’ surfwax. The bikini set includes a set of bangle bracelets carved from ironwood. Both are available in colours inspired by the surf spots throughout Fiji: Cloudbreak, Frigates, Namotu, Restaurants, and Sigatoka
Bamboo for a boardshort or bikini fabric? Yes. Bamboo fabric is extremely durable and has a natural sheen similar to silk — it is a truly luxurious, natural fibre. Like other natural fibers such as hemp, it is anti-bacterial, breathable and biodegradable. In addition, bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world, reaching maturity within three to four years, and can be cultivated without pesticides or fertilizers. So, bamboo-fabric boardshorts and bikinis? Definitely.
These are available for purchase now at all the shop locations (except the Venice Beach location) and also on SL Exchange. Check out the newly renovated shop at SLeek Beach Club too… many changes at that beach.

Thanks also to Coral Cortes who reviewed the Cocoa Beach bikinis and Slate boardshorts for the SL Shopping Guide!
She’ll be doing another review soon for the Pacific Harbour set too in the next few days. Thanks so much!! See her first review here »
