Hot sun. White sand beach. Monsters waves.
Narrowly escaping the rolling blackouts across the grid, we were a lucky bunch of surfers hanging at Chi (122, 205, 22) late yesterday afternoon. There was a great turnout of SL surfers from all over the grid, many of whom had never been to Chi before… tons of honeys and hotties on the beach… and many of the team riders out on the waves, hooting and hollering the whole time.
The event was scheduled for 5 pm SLT, but we had so many people start arriving at the beach as early as 3 pm! Cracking jokes on the beach and tandem surfing… (Suzy, that peanut butter joke has legs, I’ll say). We were lucky enough to have some photos of the event from SL photographer, Joeru Pugilist. See here…

Crowds of surfers gathering by the beach as early as 3 pm in the afternoon,
roasting for hours in the hot sun.
Kiyotei was the hardcore surfer that introduced me to Chi ages ago… even lent me one of his boards when I was Lindenless. I was so very grateful to see him and his friend, Sorcha, out on the beach.

Malcolm and Max were all raring to go… Max with his new custom board, “Degausser”… of course, with artwork based on lyrics from the Brand New song.

Goodbye to sleep. I think this staying up is exactly what I need. (Degausser surfboard detail)
We were also so happy to welcome Valent1ne Apogee as our newest team rider! She’s a builder in SL and helped us shoot a video of the event… check it out.

Caly and Blue started us off at 5 pm… ooops, 5:03 pm, Blue – my bad.

We were handing out free wet t-shirts too. If you didn’t get one and want one, just IM Keala. I’ll be putting them up in the shops too in a day or so. These t’s were Suzy’s great idea — a little see-through so you can see your bikini through the fabric. They are slightly wet, slightly sheer, and slightly salty. Yep, you can see Sam’s tatts through the shirt…

And finally, team rider, Seano hosted everybody at his new beachfront house for an afterparty. With Heather Goodliffe’s assistance, he has installed waves out in front of the house which are amazing…

Suzy’s hair, about to catch on fire.
A big, big thank you to Poid Mahovlich and Sally LaSalle for hosting us at their beautiful surf sim. Thank you to Sebastian Saramago and Heather Goodliffe for making waves and boards for us to ride… Thank you to Maxwell Eclipse for dreaming up the idea for us and getting us started…
And thank you to all the surfers, team riders, and friends who came out to play. We had so much fun, Sally and Poid declared Fridays to be surf day at Chi… so we’ll be surfing at Chi every Friday afternoon starting anywhere around 4 pm SLT. Come join us on the waves!!
