Poid Mahovlich and Sally LaSalle hosted SL’s first-ever Windsurfing Contest in conjunction with the RL SecondReef contest in the Canary Islands. Spectator turnout was fantastic, with over 40 residents gathering on the beach and in the stands to cheer on their friends. Congratulations goes to Sierra Sugar, our resident DJ/MC extraordinaire, and now SL’s first Windsurfing champion!

Thanks to Poid and Sally for organizing and hosting this event! And also to Thor Bishop and Kimmy Leroux for judging alongside Sally, and Sierra for providing the tunes. Great job, everybody!!

Geez, the team riders are all getting married off! This is the second wedding this week. Malcolm and Emme, both team riders, had a lovely wedding ceremony this evening, with fellow surfer, Seano as Mal’s best man. It was, of course, a beach setting… complete with surfboards at the shoreline.

Windsurfing is relatively new to SL and this event will be a great opportunity for you to see how much fun it can be! SECONDREEF is an RL company based in the Canary Islands, and it was the idea of Alessandro to host a joint SL & RL Event.

Video will stream from the RL contest for viewing during the SL event, and the RL contest will be watching the SL event on computers on location in the Canary Islands.

The entry deadline will be Saturday, May 5th so that heats can be scheduled in advance and posted before the event day.

You may use your own Windsurf boards but SECONDFEEF will provide a Windsurf board if you do not have one. The event takes place using Heather Goodliffe?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s waves and Sebastian Saramago?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Windsurf boards ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú so you will need to use these boards to strut your stuff. No extra animations or HUDs to be worn or used thanks.
